NYSC Portal Errors and How to Fix Them
Introduction
The NYSC registration portal can sometimes present errors that prevent you from completing your registration. Here are the most common issues and how to resolve them.
Date of Birth Mismatch
Error: "Date of birth does not match" or registration fails silently.
Cause: The date of birth you entered doesn't match what your institution submitted on the Senate List.
Solution: Contact your institution's NYSC Desk Officer to verify and correct the DOB on their records. You may need to provide a birth certificate or sworn affidavit.
Name Not on Senate List
Error: "Your name is not on the mobilization list" or "No record found."
Cause: Your institution has not yet submitted your name, or there is a data entry error.
Solution: Visit your department and NYSC Desk Officer with your statement of result or transcript. Request to be added to the supplementary list.
Payment Failures
Error: Payment page crashes, times out, or shows "transaction failed."
Cause: Network issues, bank problems, or insufficient funds.
Solution:
1. Wait 24-48 hours — the payment may still be processing
2. Check your bank statement to confirm if the amount was debited
3. If debited but not reflected on the portal, contact your bank for the transaction reference number
4. Report to NYSC with your payment reference for manual verification
JAMB Regularization Issues
Error: "JAMB record not found" or "JAMB details mismatch."
Cause: Your JAMB admission records don't match your NYSC registration details.
Solution: Visit the nearest JAMB office to regularize your admission. You will need your JAMB registration number, admission letter, and school credentials.
Photo Upload Errors
Error: "Photo does not meet requirements" or upload fails.
Cause: The photo doesn't meet NYSC specifications.
Requirements:
•White background
•Passport-size dimensions
•Clear, recent photo (not older than 3 months)
•JPEG format, under 200KB
•No glasses, headwear (unless religious), or excessive filters
Portal Login Issues
If you cannot log in:
•Use the "Forgot Password" link to reset your password
•Ensure you are using the correct email address
•Clear your browser cache and try again
•Try a different browser (Chrome is recommended)
•If your account is locked, contact NYSC support with your registration details
