What to Pack for NYSC Orientation Camp: Complete Checklist
Camp Essentials
The NYSC orientation camp lasts 3 weeks. Packing smart will make your camp experience much more comfortable. Here is a comprehensive checklist of what to bring.
Documents (Critical)
•Call-up Letter (Green Card) — original + 2 photocopies
•Academic credentials (degree certificate or statement of result)
•Means of identification (NIN slip, international passport, or driver's license)
•Medical fitness certificate from a government hospital
•8 passport photographs (white background)
•NHIS registration evidence (if applicable)
Tip: Keep all documents in a waterproof folder or ziplock bag.
Clothing
•White T-shirts (at least 4 plain white)
•White shorts or trousers (at least 2 pairs)
•White socks and comfortable white canvas/sneakers for drills
•Casual clothes for evenings and social activities
•Underwear (enough for 3 weeks)
•A light jacket or sweater (evenings can be cool)
•Sandals or flip-flops for the hostel
Note: You will receive your NYSC khaki, boots, and jungle hat at camp.
Toiletries & Personal Care
•Toothbrush and toothpaste
•Soap and sponge
•Deodorant
•Towels (at least 2)
•Sunscreen and lip balm
•Insect repellent and mosquito net
•Basic first-aid supplies (pain relievers, bandages, antiseptic)
