Redeployment & Special Cases
How to apply for redeployment and handle special circumstances.
Grounds for Redeployment
Redeployment (changing your deployment state) is only granted under specific conditions:
• Health reasons — with a medical report from a government hospital
• Marital reasons — married female corps members can apply to join their spouse
• Security concerns — if there are genuine security threats in your deployment area
Redeployment is not guaranteed and must be applied for during the orientation camp period.
How to Apply for Redeployment
1. Obtain the redeployment form from the camp admin office
2. Fill it out completely with supporting documentation
3. Submit to the Camp Director or designated officer
4. Await the review and decision (usually before camp ends)
Note: Do not leave camp without official approval. Unauthorized departure is treated as absconding.
Special Cases
Pregnant corps members: You may be given special consideration for posting and can defer service with proper medical documentation.
Corps members with disabilities: NYSC provides accommodations and may post you to accessible PPAs.
Late deployment: If you missed your batch due to valid reasons, contact your institution's NYSC desk officer to be included in the next batch.
